People are familiar with songs produced by international artists mostly coming from the Europe and American market. However there are Marathi songs as well which provide good sound and melodies if only people would be more open-minded and open towards listening to them. Many would mistake Marathi songs for rituals or religious ceremonies.
This would only be normal who are not familiar with them. But music is known to serve in any language. Should translation be in order, then perhaps people would appreciate what they truly mean to deliver. Nothing beats appreciating the arts by understanding what is attracting you towards them.
Marathi songs should not be alienated just for our love for music. They have their share of providing entertainment, lessons, morals and messages to any listener today. The language may be different but for people who can understand them then all it needs is providing meaning to them in a universal way.
The musical score and the beat would sometimes be catchy and get the better of appreciating the actual composition of this stuff. It has already been proven that even if people would not understand what they are listening to, they resort to the next best thing, the beat of the entire musical composition.
Marathi songs have their share of the limelight. All it needs is to try to find another medium to understand them. While beats and musical scores are already a given, at least they are being appreciated. But knowing how people are today, chances are they may want to be curious in identifying the message and the manner to which the actual lyrics were done.
It is in this aspect to which it should not be surprising why some people would appreciate Marathi songs all the more. Besides, what you first appreciated would be complete by actually knowing the message of the lyrics which would normally be sung in their Hindu or Arabic language.
